Felty Fun at Nuit Blanche

We are delighted to feature two artists on Thursday November 12th from 5-8pm as we kick off this month's "Home for the Holidays" market. You will enjoy meeting Allison of Dinky Dairy and meet her delightful and whimsical felt handiwork friends at our Nuit Blanche. We first met Allison in Baraboo and were just smitten with her handmade owls, cats, houses and birds.

Allison has been crafting and creating from an early age, but it was the discovery of felting wool that excited her most. She said it was creating through felting that brought her into her own. Nowadays, Allison fancies herself as a folk artist. Allison says, "Folk means something that’s imperfectly executed with great intention and heart.  This describes not only my sewing, but ME!"

Allison enjoys crafting from recycled wool, cashmere and cotton.  Generally these materials are thrift store bargains and blankets that she washes and then felts in her 1968 Speed Queen.  Alliston says, "I strive toward whimsy, and usually arrive somewhere nearby with pillows to garlands and lots of owls in between."  She makes all of her felt treasures in her "craft camper" outside of Sauk City!

Don't miss Allison and her felted friends at our Nuit Blanche on Thursday November 12th from 5-8pm.  You are certain to find a whimsical creature that will melt your heart!
