You might be wondering why there's no market in January this year . . . or March, May, July and September too! That's right . . . we've having fewer markets this year, but they will be more fabulous than ever! While we are closed this month preparing for the Nouveau Market Feb. 6-9, we're giving the shop a much needed (after four years) sprucing up, including some new flooring and giving the remaining flooring some sparkling new life, improving the lighting in the shop, and adding yet another expansion to our retail floor space -- and, of course, a lot of new paint! (More about the paint at a later date.)
While we are having fewer markets this year -- seven instead of twelve -- we are actually expanding our opening times during our markets, staying open an additional six hours each market with extra hours added to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. (Don't worry -- Thursday Nuit Blanche markets will remain untouched!) And we'll be travelling more, including to Paris (of course) at least twice, to find lovely treasures to ship home to you! In between our (now-every-other-month) markets, we'll have occasional special sales and events to stay in touch with all of you, our loyal friends and customers.
As you know, February will be our Nouveau market. In April, following our return from our first Paris buying trip this year, we'll feature our spring and garden market, June will be our vintage summer market, and August will be our annual home or maison market. Once we return from our September buying trip to the City of Light, we'll be ready to cap off the year with what we our calling Les Trois Fetes: The Haunting (October), The Feasting (November) and The Giving (December). Each market will feature a "creating together" project that expresses the individual talents and tastes of Confectionique's merry little band of crafty ladies.
Finally, in addition to all of this, stay tuned for details of another "A Package from Paris" adventure!
It will be quite a year. Won't you join us?
