Treasures from the ocean

Well, I love you too!
I couldn't believe my luck when I came across this sweet shell on the sandy beaches of Sanibel last week. Seriously, it was sitting in the sand with a heart cut into it. This message of love from the sea, I know, is by happenstance, but to find a shell that truly expresses how I feel about the ocean was indeed serendipitous.

I brought this sweetheart of a shell home along with piles of other abandoned fighting conchs, tulips, turkey wings and scallop shells. Sounds like a smorgasbord. As a matter of fact Sanibel was a smorgasbord of shells, sand and sun.

which one should I take home?
I know it can be a challenge to come up with ideas of what to do with these sweet little pieces of nature other than put them in a glass bowl, which is pretty, but it was fun to come with other ideas. Over the next few days I will post pictures of my shell creations on Facebook. You can see my finds and creations at our "Par Avion--Faraway Places" market beginning on  Thursday July 12 from 5-8pm and continuing through Sunday, July 15 (complete hours here).
Au Revoir,
