Tilt-a-Whirl Magic

There is something truly magical when I ride the Tilt-a-Whirl. It's the familiarity of the little red cars and the old rumbling sound it makes like its moving down an weathered, bumpy road and the sounds of laughter when I ride it. It's the same laugh from when I was a kid. It's the carefree, "Whoo-hoo, life is a blast" laugh.

It's also the fun of spinning the Tilt-a-Whirl as quickly and as many times as possible. If the red car stops momentarily you have to quickly think and strategize. Which way should we lean? Then it's the sensation of finding that perfect spin again and whirling round and round and round and laughing, laughing, laughing. How can something that lasts maybe 3 minutes be this much fun?

Last night my hubby took me to our neighborhood 4th of July carnival. It's an annual thing for us. I still love to ride the Scrambler and the Gravitron, but my favorite is still the Tilt-a-Whirl. We always ride it twice. I used to eat funnel cake after the rides, but had to give that up because the Tilt-a-Whirl caused me to hurl once...if you know what I mean. So, I sacrifice carnival food for the Tilt-a-Whirl.

I hope everyone has a lovely 4th of July filled with child-like fun. Don't forget to 'whirl on over' to Confectionique for the Come Fly With Me Market from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11!

Happy Twirlings,
