It's Totally Old School, But Fun.

"Wake me up before you go-go
don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
wake me up before you go-go
I don't want to miss it when you hit that high."

Profound lyrics aren't they? Wham! must have been smoking something when they put this song together. I will admit that back in the day I thought George Michael was hot AND Wham! was awesome! It was the first album I chose when I joined the Capital Records Club in 1988. I loved that album, and I danced to that song alot. But when my daughter was about 7 years old she loved it way too much and danced to it more than me, to the point, get this, that I actually got sick of hearing it! I couldn't stand it anymore. So one day I hid the album under the couch. My daughter looked and looked for it, "Mommy, where is the Wham! album?" I hated seeing her sad face with a look of sheer disappointment, but the thought of hearing that song again, was something I hated even more. Sheepishly I said, "Oh, honey I just have no idea what happened to it." Isn't that awful? Months went by and we both moved on to the great works of Spandeau Ballet, Go West and Duran Duran. One day I decided to rearrange the furniture and the kids were helping me. We moved the couch and there it was the beloved Wham! album. Rosie was so delighted, and actually, so was I. We put it on the record player and danced while we cleaned. I still liked that dumb song after all.

Turns out a friend found an old stereo and gave it to us for the shop. Adam and I sure enjoyed listening to the old vinyl again.

Here is one of the albums we played. How do you like the guy's shorts and knee socks? And what's on her mind?

Musically Yours, Anastasia
